Advantages / Process-Based from the Ground Up

All our systems or NC controlled and regulated. The systems conform to the strictest requirements regarding reproducibility of heat treatment processes and the documentation of process data. Thanks to our position within the PVA TePla Group and geographical proximity to the “Vacuum Systems” division, you profit from continuous system availability, direct service, and optimum maintenance of our production systems. This reduces maintenance and repair times to a minimum.

  • Vacuum Brazing Systems / MOV Furnaces

    For vacuum brazing, a total of six vacuum furnaces of differing useful volumes are available at the Wettenberg and Jena locations. MOV furnaces are high-vacuum furnaces that are fully enclosed with metal cladding and equipped with heating elements made of molybdenum or tungsten. High end vacuum—free of hydrocarbons—is a characteristic of these furnaces. This makes them ideal for heat treating highly sensitive materials such as refractory metals. They are typically used for brazing titanium, zirconium, niobium, and ceramic materials.

  • Vacuum Heat Treatment Systems / COV

    The spectrum of our COV systems in terms of design, useful volume, vacuum, and working temperature is extremely large and thus offers a very broad application spectrum—from sintering (including debinding), brazing, and degassing all the way to heat treatment, cleaning, and CVD coating. In contrast to MOV furnaces, COV systems are much more robust and get by without a hydrocarbon-free final vacuum. As such, they are also very suitable for quenching and tempering or brazing processes on non-reactive materials such as copper and stainless steel.

  • Diffusion Bonding System

    With the MOV 743 HP at the Wettenberg location, PVA Löt- und Werkstofftechnik GmbH operates one of the largest diffusion bonding systems available for services in Europe. We can now look back on a broad range of successfully joined material pairings. In cooperation with research facilities, we continue to develop our expertise in this innovative field of joining technology.

  • Sintering System / COD

    The vacuum pressure sintering system by PVA Löt- und Werkstofftechnik GmbH is available for development projects and small-series production. In a space of up to 240 x 265 mm3 (Dia.xH), components can be dewaxed, vacuum sintered, and isothermically redensified under protective gas at up to 100 bars of pressure. The system is characterized by uniform temperature distribution in the useful volume, which has a positive effect on the result of end products.

  • Peripheral Equipment / COV

    In addition to powerful system technology, a prerequisite for the production of high-quality brazed assemblies is a fully equipped infrastructure of peripheral equipment. In particular, this includes cleaning systems for cleaning the components and clean installation conditions in cleanrooms. Other important equipment features include analysis devices such as microscopes and test equipment for carrying out quality inspections on the brazed assemblies.

    PVA LWT has the following individual items of equipment

    • 4x semi-automatic paste metering devices for applying flux paste
    • 2 helium leak detectors for performing a gas permeability test on brazed seams
    • 2x 3-stage ultrasonic cleaning baths for cleaning components
    • 1x air recirculating cabinet (+300 °C)
